Telkom University Universitas Swasta Terbaik se Indonesia On  Sel, 29 Okt 2019 13:35:09  By  Hilfan Soeltansyah Jum’at pekan lalu tepatnya pada 16 Agustus 2019, Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Perguruan Tinggi (Kemenristekdikti) mengumumkan klasterisasi perguruan tinggi Indonesia tahun 2019 di Gedung D Kemenristekdikti, Senayan, Jakarta. Berdasarkan siaran pers Kemenristekdikti bahwa klasterisasi ini dilakukan untuk memetakan perguruan tinggi Indonesia yang berada di bawah naungan Kemenristekdikti guna meningkatkan kualitas perguruan tinggi sekaligus menjadi dasar bagi Kemenristekdikti untuk memberikan kebijakan sesuai kapasitas setiap klaster perguruan tinggi tersebut. Penerapan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (ICT) dalam dunia pendidikan, termasuk perguruan tinggi sangat diperlukan. Mengingat banyaknya manfaat yang dapat diperoleh dengan menerapkan hal tersebut. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kesadaran tersebut adalah melalui Telkom Smart Campus Award (TeSCA). Pemeringkatan terhadap kampus dengan kesadaran ICT yang tinggi itu diharapkan dapat memacu setiap kampus untuk berlomba-lomba mengaplikasikan ICT dalam pendidikan. "TeSCA lahir pada 2008 untuk mengukur kecerdasan perguruan tinggi dalam bidang ICT. Baru setahun nama Telkom University (Tel-U) dipakai perguruan tinggi di bawah PT Telkom, salah satu badan usaha milik negara itu. Meski baru Tel-U, yang terletak di Jalan Telekomunikasi, Terusan Buah Batu, Bandung, Jawa Barat, ini memiliki segudang prestasi, baik di dalam maupun luar negeri. Tel-U mewarisi kebesaran sejumlah perguruan tinggi di bawah Yayasan Pendidikan Telkom (YPT) yang bergabung menjadi satu.
